How does it feel to perform in Kolkata for the first time?
I performed on a grand stage in Kolkata for the first time. However, it’s been about eleven months that I’ve been conducting week-long workshop and training sessions in a New Town dance studio. The latter is a students’ show, and gives an opportunity and a platform to aspiring dancers as well as those who are dancing for pleasure. Our students are aged from eight to 60 years, yet all of them are having the best time of their lives.
You have been doing workshops in Kolkata since April 1. What do you feel about the
    students here?
I am teaching here for almost a year now and the students have great potential and grasp the music easily, and are already acquainted with the concepts of taal and laya. Kolkata is one of my favourite cities when it comes to teaching classical dance as the students here are more inclined towards classical forms. I feel the city truly respects artistes and teachers, unlike many other cities where I’ve conducted workshops. Apart from the hospitality and food, I love the eagnerness to learn among the students here. I am aware that girls as well as some boys take to classical dancing at a very young age. Kolkata is also home to great classical dancers who perform across India and abroad. What matters most is that they continue to spread the joy of dance.
How has the journey been so far?
    So far it has bee
