  • Rock band All Time Low has responded to a sexual assault allegation made against guitarist Jack Barakat on Monday and allegations of "inappropriate behavior" made against the band a few weeks ago in a TikTok video that alluded to the group.

In a statement Monday posted on Twitter, All Time Low denied the allegations, stating they are "absolutely and unequivocally false."

The group stated it had not responded earlier "because of the glaring inconsistencies in the story, and the apparent reluctance to mention us by name."

"It is with that in mind that we have to state with outright certainty, that what is being said about us is completely and utterly false. We are investigating further the source of these false accusations, and will be seeking legal recourse as we take these allegations very seriously.

What Allegations Were Made Against All Time Low?

According to Rolling Stone, earlier on Monday, an anonymous female Twitter user accused Barakat of sexual assault, on an account (@ATLstatement) which has since been suspended. A screenshot of the user's post was shared in another Twitter thread.

The user said she attempted to share her story twice before but claimed she was "met with influxes of hatred from the masses" and was allegedly "threatened with legal action," But she decided to share it again now given the #MeToo movement, Rolling Stone reported.

The user alleged Barakat's sexual abuse began in 2011 when she was 15 years old. She claimed the abuse continued throughout the period of the band's tour that year as well as during the tours and events that followed that year. She alleged the last time she was sexually assaulted by him was when she was 21 years old.

The accuser claimed that at least one other band member is aware of Barakat's behavior but her "abuser was protected" instead of being removed from the group.

The user alleged: "It's been over ten years since the abuse first began and I ha

    Initial visibility

This template's initial visibility currently defaults to , meaning that if there is another collapsible item on the page (a navbox, sidebar, or table with the collapsible attribute), it is hidden apart from its title bar; if not, it is fully visible.

To change this template's initial visibility, the parameter may be used:

    • will show the template collapsed, i.e. hidden apart from its title bar.
    • will show the template expanded, i.e. fully visible.

Templates using the classes ({{navbox}}) or ({{sidebar}}) are not displayed in article space on the mobile web site of English Wikipedia. Mobile page views account for approximately 68% of all page views (90-day average as of September 2024). Briefly, these templates are not included in articles because 1) they are not well designed for mobile, and 2) they significantly increase page sizes—bad for mobile downloads—in a way that is not useful for the mobile use case. All Time Low is an American pop punk band formed in Baltimore, Maryland, United States in 2003. When Alex Gaskarth (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards) was in middle school, he was moved from private school to public school, where he met Jack Barakat (lead guitar, backing vocals), and put the band together; later recruiting Rian Dawson (drums, percussion), and Zack Merrick (bass guitar, backing vocals). The band's name came from a line in the New Found Glory song Head On Collision. Early on, All Time Low mostly performed covers of songs by bands like Green Day, blink-182, and New Found Glory. Since their debut, they have released 9 studio albums: The Party Scene (2005), So Wrong, It's Right (2007), Nothing Personal (2009), Dirty Work (2011), Don't Panic (2012), Future Hearts (2015), Last Young Renegade (2017), Wake Up, Sunshine (2020), and Tell Me I'm Alive (2023) as well as two live albums, Straight to DVD (2010), and Straight to DVD II: Past, Present and Future Hearts (2016). They have also released some EPs, most notably, Put Up or Shut Up (2006), and MTV Unplugged (2010).

Formed in 2003 in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland, All Time Low started out as a high-school cover band before morphing into a melodic emo-pop act. Singer/guitarist Alex Gaskarth and guitarist Jack Barakat were All Time Low's co-founders, with bassist Zack Merrick and drummer Rian Dawson rounding out their energetic pop-punk sound and rowdy live shows, which often included silly string and beach balls. Honing their skills between homework and other teenage commitments, the guys managed to tour across the East Coast and the South during school breaks. They issued a four-song EP, 2004's The Three Words to Remember in Dealing with the End, with help from local label Emerald Moon, and followed its release with a full-length album, The Party Scene, one year later.

Touring across the country that summer, the guys found themselves on bills with similar acts like Motion City Soundtrack, The Early November, and Plain White T's. Along the way, All Time Low also bumped into fellow pop-punkers Amber Pacific, who brought the young band to the attention of their label, Hopeless Records. The label was immediately impressed, and All Time Low had officially become part of the Hopeless family by March 2006, just a few months shy of the members' high-school graduation. Finally done with schoolwork and able to concentrate full-time on music, the group issued Put Up or Shut Up -- a seven-song EP that mostly featured new recordings of older material -- that July.

All Time Low supported the EP's release with a handful of Warped Tour dates before hitting the road again with Amber Pacific. So Wrong, It's Right appeared in 2007, marking the band's first full-length release for Hopeless. After being named 2008's Band of the Year by Alternative Press, All Time Low returned with their second album, Nothing Personal, in July 2009. Debuting at number four on the Billboard charts, Nothing Personal helped make All Time Low one of the top emo-pop acts in the b
