The Weird Relationship Bradley Cooper Has With His Mom
If Bradley Cooper didn't spend enough time with his mom at home, the pair also enjoyed a brief working relationship. In an interview with E! News, the star revealed that his mother had a role in the making of Joy. "She actually was a consultant for [Director] David [O. Russell] on the movie when he was conceiving it because she's a huge disciple of QVC," he told E! News.
For those not familiar, Joy is the story of HSN queen Joy Mangano, who created the Miracle Mop and made a killing selling them on the network. As it turns out, Cooper's mom is a huge TV shopping aficionado and totally obsessed with QVC, so much so that she wore an "Audrey Hepburn" brooch she purchased from the network to the film's premiere. She also bought a special device that might have helped them navigate that red carpet. Let's let Cooper explain that last part, via an interview with late night show host Seth Meyers:
"She goes, 'I bought this great ... device where if you're driving a car it can tell you how to get to a place.' And I was like 'What are you talking about? ... Mom, it's like Google Maps, like navigation,'" he said. "'No, it's a device I can carry around with me,'" she told him. Yes, QVC even managed to sell Gloria Campano something she probably already has on her own phone.

If you were in South Jersey and breathing over the Labor Day vacation, you doubtless heard that actor Bradley Cooper was "Do-ing AC" and territory this weekend.
The Oscar winner and his Russian swimsuit/supermodel girlfriend Irina Shayk were in Brigantine visiting his mom, Gloria Campano.
While the dazzling duo were in town, they were spotted in several local eateries and sightings filled social media locally.
Well, now the pack of hungry paparazzi who make their living supplying dirt for the tabloids have caught on to the couple's trip and the story in making headlines around the world. So is South Jersey.
And, even if some of the national media don't know the difference between Brigantine and Atlantic City any more than they know a green-head from green tea, we'll take the love, thank you very much!

All About Bradley Cooper's Mom, Gloria Campano
A star was born ... to Gloria Campano.
Bradley Cooper was brought into the world by Gloria and Charles Cooper on Jan. 5, 1975, and raised by his parents just outside of Philadelphia.
The actor grew up alongside his mom, who worked for the local NBC affiliate at the time, and his late father (who died of lung cancer in 2011), who was a stockbroker.
Bradley was very close to both his parents; right before his dad passed away, the actor told Esquire in June 2011 that he had moved in them five months before Charles died.
In the wake of his death, Gloria moved in with Bradley and the two leaned on each other for support. "My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us," Bradley said at the time. "It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other."
Bradley's closeness with his mother is apparent, as she is his frequent date for movie premieres and awards shows. Most recently, Gloria attended the 2024 Oscars with Bradley on March 10.
In March 2017, Bradley expanded his family while starting one of his own when he welcomed daughter Lea De Seine with ex Irina Shayk. "[Having a family has] changed everything," the actor admitted in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2019. "Our daughter, she's incredible. And I see my father in her quite often."
