Indian actress

Ketki Joshi Dave (born 23 June ) is an Indian actress who mainly works in Hindi films and Hindi television and had also starred in many Gujarati films. She has starred in several films including Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and Hello! Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain. She has also worked in many television productions including the reality shows Nach Baliye 2,Bigg Boss Season 2, and the daily soap operas Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Behenein.

Personal life

Ketki was born on 23 June to the parents Sarita Joshi, an actress and Pravin Joshi, a theatre director. She has a younger sister Purbi Joshi who is also an actress and an anchor. She was married to the actor Rasik Dave, (widow on ) with whom she ran a Gujarati theatre company.

She also shared that she makes sure that her personal life does not interfere with her professional life, and that she has also reported to work while being unwell. Ketki had earlier shared how Rasik did not like talking about his illness because he believed that he would get better soon and bounce back to work.     Ketki Dave's husband actor Rasik Dave is no more. The year-old actor breathed his last yesterday (July 29) at around 8 pm. The actor, who died of kidney failure, was on dialysis for the last two years. Rasik is survived by his wife, son and daughter. The funeral took place this morning.
    Anupamaa actress Alpana Buchis a family friend and when Bombay Timesreached out to her, she said, "We have worked together in ad commercials and we have even done a TV show together Roop-Mard Ka Naya Swaroop, where he played my from that, he was into Gujarati theatre and even though we haven't done a play together, we all theatre actors know each other very well and we are like one big family."
    The actress is saddened by the news and sharing about Dave's medical condition, Alpana said, "He had kidney issues for the past 4 to 5 years and was on dialysis too. But he still managed it all very well and was always cheerful. Even when I went for his funeral today, I found that he had very peacefully departed. Rasik was hospitalised for last 15 days and on Thursday he got back home."
    Alpana added, "I saw Ketki (Rasik's wife) today at his funeral. My heart went out to her. She is a very strong woman and was looking after everything calmly." Alpana shared what Rasik told Ketki before passing away. She said, "Ketki is currently doing a Gujarati play and before passing away, Rasik told her that even after I am gone, you will not stop. You will go ahead and perform in this play."
    Talking about Rasik, the person she knew, Alpana said, "Even my father knew Rasik well. He was fun-loving person and a good person at heart. Whenever we used to go to parties or any events, he was a foodie and we used to have a lot of fun and masti together."

    Theatre, TV and film actor Rasik Dave passed away on Friday. His wife Ketki Davespoke with BT about her husband and how life will not be the same without him.
    The last few years were tough after he was diagnosed with kidney issues. "Rasik never wanted to talk about his illness. So, we never shared about his deteriorating health with anyone. He was a very private person and believed that all will be , deep down, we knew somewhere that he was not well. In the last few days, he told me how I should continue working always. I was supposed to open a play and I told him I was not in the state of mind to work, but he kept saying that the show must go on and I should never stop working. Even when he was unwell, he kept saying that all will be fine and I should not lose hope. Today, I am managing everything bravely because he was by my side all this time. I have my family members, my mother, my children, my mother-in-law and they are all my biggest support, but I miss my husband very much."
    The actress shared how her mother Sarita Joshihelped her cope with life in the last two years. "When Rasik was diagnosed with kidney ailment, I broke down. My mother has been my constant and biggest support. She always tells me how one can be in grief, but sorrow should not overcome you. Life has to be lived on its terms and whatever challenges you face, have to be dealt with bravely. Each time I would break down, my mother would say get up and face it, you can't give up. I am trying to do that today. But life will never be the same again. I will miss Rasik at every point in my life. I have my family members - mother, mother-in-law and children but his absence will always be felt," she said.
